Exterior
The only differences between the Toyota Raize and the Toyota Rocky on the outside are the badges and the front grill.
The grill on the Daihatsu is in the shape of a hexagon, but the Toyota twin doesn’t have one at all. Instead, the large, pointed headlights are joined by a black strip.
There is also a lower grill that is much bigger and made of black plastic.
Interior
The Toyota Raize’s interior is almost all black, and the silver accents on the dashboard make it look even better.
The higher-end trims have a digital 7-inch TFT cluster of gauges, while the lower-end trims have a segmented cluster of gauges.
The small crossover has a console that its passengers are sure to like. It also has a lot of cupholders, including one for the driver and front passenger in front of the A/C vents, two bottle holders for each front door, and one bottle holder for each rear door.
Features
All Toyota Raize models come with dual front airbags, anti-lock brakes, Vehicle Stability Control, hill-start assist, and anchors for child safety seats.
In addition to front, side, and curtain airbags, the top-of-the-line Turbo model has a blind-spot monitoring system and a rear cross-traffic alert.
The Raize is a crossover, so it has the comfort of a small sedan but has a higher ground clearance. The front is held together by MacPherson struts, and the back is held together by a torsion beam.
Powertrain
With the Toyota Raize, you can choose between two engines.
The G and E models are energized by a 1.2-liter, 12-valve, twin-cam, inline-3 engine that makes 113 Newton meters (Nm) of torque and 88 PS.
This can be connected to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT (CVT). The top-of-the-line Turbo has a 1.0-liter, twin-cam, 12-valve, inline-3 engine that is turbocharged and makes 98 PS and 140 Nm of torque.
This is the only thing that goes with the CVT.
Fuel Consumption
The Raize gets 10 to 12 km/L in the city and 18 to 20 km/L on the expressway. This is because it has a light body and small engines.
As expected, the CVT gets better gas mileage than the manual transmission.
Conclusion
The Toyota Raize is a subcompact crossover that is useful, has a good price, and looks pretty good. It has what it takes to win over people who want to get out of sedans.
It also fills the spot left by the old Ford EcoSport, which sold well, and gives Korean subcompacts a lot to worry about.
Chinese crossovers like the MG ZS and ZS T, which are the same price as the Raize but have more space and more power like Toyota Raize horsepower, might be the Raize’s toughest rivals.
In the Philippines, the Toyota Raize specs and price Philippines starts at P751,000.00. The Toyota Raize 1.2 E MT is the least expensive, and the Toyota Raize 1.0 Turbo CVT (White Pearl SE/Black), Toyota Raize 2022 price Philippines which costs P1,056,000.00, is the most expensive.
